Symbiosis of building technology, process engineering and architecture

Plants for biopharmaceutical production processes are embedded in a cleanroom environment. Its infrastructure is versatile and adapted to the plant. The building that houses the equipment forms part of the complex system and not merely a shell for the process plant and its environment. Ideally, the building is perfectly matched to the production process and its requirements.

Holistic approach: Integrating process technology & architecture

Process technology, technical building equipment and architecture thus form a coherent unity – given a holistic approach in the planning, implementation, and optimization of these systems. ZETA unites experts from all fields under one roof and always keeps an eye on the big picture.

Hans Eder, Associate Director Business Line Sustainable Energy Solutions, emphasized the importance of holistic expertise in pharmaceutical projects.

“Especially in the pharmaceutical industry, numerous standards, laws and guidelines apply. Process equipment, media supply and further building infrastructure form a functional whole. Whether it is a greenfield project, a brownfield project or the development of a clever decarbonization strategy – comprehensive understanding of all these interrelationships is the most important key to success.”

Be it greenfield or brownfield: there is potential for optimization

As an end-to-end solution provider for the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, ZETA leads both greenfield and brownfield projects to success. Greenfield projects are typically developed on a completely undeveloped site. Brownfield refers to the expansion of existing facilities or conversions on their sites, naturally taking in account the existing spatial constraints.
