Feature Article: How R&D is driven for the pharmaceutical industry
Process development & optimization
Biopharmaceutical production processes are highly complex, placing enormous demands on equipment and facilities. Time and again, special issues and technical challenges arise from process development and operation. How can these be solved?
Customers often come to ZETA with very specific questions:
- Which is the optimal stirring process?
- How can we make phase separation work during product preparation?
- How can powder mixing be optimized to produce a homogeneous suspension?
At TechCenter ZETA, a wide range of specific technical solutions is developed and tested in close cooperation with the customer and in collaboration with renowned research partners.
Prototype development and construction
Process development often goes hand in hand with the development of components that generate added value for (bio)pharmaceutical production. These include reusable connectors for the transfer of fluids (ZETA Sterile Connectors), wall ducts for single-use tubing (ZETA Mouseholes), stirrer blade combinations with special geometries, or LOTO Safety Boxes for pneumatic tubing to increase safety during commissioning and maintenance work.
